Spring Is Coming | SS

Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And all we’ve been hoping and longing for soon will appear
Spring is coming, Spring is coming
It won’t be long now, it’s just about here

You can feel it in the air. Even in my dry little corner of the world, there’s a shimmer of green on the treetops, a few brave daffodils that have been coaxed from the earth, and buds on many bushes. Yesterday, I was thrilled to find, driving down a small street in town, that it is possible to grow Forsythias here (my favorite bush in the spring).

The world is longing for spring to arrive. The birds are singing in anticipation.

I feel it in my own heart.

I am longing for the arrival of spring in my soul, to see a season of growth, renewal, and warmth. Certain seasons of life have a way of wearying a soul.

Sometimes it seems like finding spring will never happen. Like the first brave crocuses that push through the dirt, fighting to breathe the warm air,  I fight to find hope and the light of grace, pushing through the weight of discouragement and complacency.

There are always those moments when the winter wind is howling its mournful song and you question if you will ever feel the warmth of the sun on your face again. But spring, like every other season, will always come.

Spring feels like hope, and it won’t be long now. Spring is coming.Hope is coming too.

Feel the sun on your skin
Growing strong and warm again
Watch the ground: there’s something moving
Something is breaking through
New life is breaking through

Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And all we’ve been hoping and longing for soon will appear
Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And it won’t be long now, it’s just about here
